We’ve had a burst of energy in the office over the past few weeks, it must be tax year-end spurring us on!
Helen and her husband Steve ran the Brighton Marathon. Helen's quote said it all, “We did it! Steve in 4:13:36 and Helen in 4:56:41 we were both pleased with our times but have really honestly said never again, and we mean it this time!". This was followed within days with a message reading, “Congratulations!! You entered the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon Ballot”. How we laughed in the office. Once a runner, always a runner!! They did incredibly well! Helen thanked Steve, and good friends, together with her late father for motivating her to keep fit!!
Nick went out to Mallorca to take part in The Mallorca 312 which is one of the toughest endurance events in the sportive calendar. Originally conceived as a lap around the island of Mallorca, the long course takes in 312 kilometres of riding with over 5,000m of climbing. Ouch!! After a stressful start with the hotel failing to get the team to the start on time and one of the guys having a puncture, Nick had a great ride finishing in 11 hours and 49 minutes with an average speed of 16.6 mph. Not sure he even had the energy for a San Miguel at the end!
Not quite the Mallorca 312, but a few weeks ago Victoria donned a pink tutu and flashing Mohican to take part with 3 great friends to unite against cancer with Women V Cancer Ride the Night 2018. Together they rode 100km through the night across London for Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action. Starting and finishing at Windsor Racecourse, the route took in famous landmarks including Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace and more. Victoria said “It was a fabulous experience, despite the massive plummet in temperature at around 1am! It was freezing! So worth it though, we raised £1520!!”
